Tournament of Minds Success 2008
Tournament of Minds provides an opportunity for students with a passion for learning and problem solving to demonstrate their skills and talents in an exciting, vibrant, and public way. It is the largest team based creative problem solving program in Australia. Tournament of Minds program started in Victoria in 1987 and after establishing itself in all Australian states and territories has now expanded to New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong.
On Saturday 30th August three Primary teams and one Secondary team competed in the Regional Final of the Tournament of Minds Competition. Two teams completed the Language Literature challenge and two the Applied Technology challenge. Teams received their Long Term Challenge at the start of Term 3 and had six weeks to prepare their solution.
After six weeks of effective preparation working on group cohesion and problem solving skills, teams performed extremely well and were a credit to Kingsway Christian College. Both the Applied Technology teams received regional honours and competed in the State Final on Sunday 14th September. The Primary team went on to win the State Final and were Western Australian State Representatives in the National Finals in Melbourne on October 25th.
Congratulations to all students who participated in Tournament of Minds 2008.
