The Combined Band placed 2nd in the Joondalup Eisteddfod competitions this year; several Senior Vocalists also placed: one 1st place, one 2nd place, and several Highly Commended markings, with scores well over 75%. Senior Music students have also performed very well, with high final marks and percentages. One of the Music in Society students has made the short list for a Subject Award to be presented by the Curriculum Council later this year. Instrumental and Vocal Music students from both the upper and lower schools at Kingsway Christian College have undertaken Music examinations with the Australian Music Examinations Board and other examining bodies, and have attained high gradings up to A+, a remarkable achievement, with the assistance and wonderful tuition provided by our Music tutors. Plans for 2009 include a new Gospel Chorus for students from year 7 upwards, a new junior band for primary school students, and new ensembles, jazz and rock bands in addition to the ensembles and bands already in place.
