OUTSTANDING ACADEMIC SUCCESS BY KINGSWAY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE STUDENTS

Kingsway Christian College is proud to announce that four of its 2008 Year 12 students gained entry to the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Western Australia. Places in undergraduate medical courses are highly sought after and each student performed well in their Tertiary Entrance Examinations as well as in the Undergraduate Medical and Health Sciences Admission Test (UMAT) and their respective interviews.
Last year the University of Western Australia ran an outer Metropolitan Mentoring Programme with some of the Year 12 students who were interested in Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences and of the six Medicine scholarships available across three nominated schools, four were won by Kingsway students. The successful students were Kimberley Chung, Amy Lee, Sarah Hollick and David Robertson. The Mentoring programme with UWA is continuing in 2009 and is open to all Year 10 to 12 students wishing to consider a career in Medicine or Dentistry at UWA at completion of Year 12.

College Principal Mrs Jeanette Giroud said “2008 was a landmark year for Kingsway Christian College, as it saw us celebrating twenty five years of excellence in Christ-centred education and so the academic achievement of these students who graduated in this particular year makes it even more memorable”.
